Setting up a tripod

When setting up a tripod in media you will need to make sure that the followings things are considered before you film these things are .

  • Make sure the tripod is not on an uneven pavement or ground as they can cause the tripod to fall over and the camera might break.

  • Make sure that the camera release plate is firmly attached to the camera otherwise the camera will fall off and this could damage the camera and make sure that the camera release plate fits properly .

  • When filming using a tripod a good tip to remember is to make sure that a friend or someone close by you is guarding the camera as this can help when filming in a busy environment like a corridor for example because if someone walking by accidently brushes past their is a bigger risk that the camera could get knocked over but if you have someone watching the camera then their is a smaller risk of the camera being knocked over.

  • If your tripod has clips  use these to lock your tripods legs in to place to stop it from going anywhere whilst you are filming, they can also be unlocked if you need to adjust the height of the tripod .
